Born in Europe, Manfred’s music studies have taken him to Ontario, Quebec, Japan, France, Mexico and Guatemala. Other sojourns to several favourite spots on this planet continue to have a strong influence on his choice of repertoire.

In Toronto, Manfred studied with Eli Kassner and at the Royal Conservatory of Music. He received scholarships to Centre D’Arts D’Orford, Jeunesse Musicale, Quebec, Canada and to the Conservatory Regional of Nice, France under the tutelage of Alexander Lagoya, Henri Dorigny and Ako Ito.

Among his many television appearances, Manfred has been a featured artist for CBC television productions: La Guichet Fermez, Bridge to Japan, Guitar Academy of Toronto Presents, and was the guest artist for a televised recital in Grande Prairie, Alberta.

As host and producer of “Manfred’s Guitar”, a five-year weekly television show taped under the auspices of Shaw Cable, “Manfred’s Guitar” showcased musicians and artists and had a viewing audience that encompassed central BC.

Manfred has released two albums: Graceful Fire and La Cote D’Azur

In addition to consulting and teaching on a private basis, he has been a faculty member of the Kelowna Community Music School since 1993.
